Estelle & Dan Theriault

Following back and knee surgery, it was time to return to work. After countless purchases of cheap plastic shoehorns that kept breaking, I decided to put my wood shop skills into action and made my first shoehorn! Soon after that, family and friends were wanting some.
Wood inspires me! I use a variety of rejected woods which are donated by sawmills and factories and fallen and pruned branches. I take a piece of wood to visualize and design a shoehorn. It is then traced, cut glued and shaped. Nothing is shaped or produced with automated or computerized equipment. In the final step, a protective finish of Tung oil is hand-rubbed on each shoehorn.
And there we have it; a beautiful hand-crafted wooden shoehorn!
Our new products consist of hand-crafted wooden canes and walking sticks!
