On April 18th, Pat took us on a journey, sharing her pathway from idea to completed project.

It's important to pack your bags and prepare for the journey!!

Her love of peacocks as the inspiration grounded her work. Beginning with her 'canvas' - plain weave handwoven silk, she added her knowledge and expertise in colour and design. These strengthened the foundation for the project. Pat shared that her desire was to 'push the envelope' and push she did! Her process of expression used many techniques and a variety of media – with dyes- natural and procion; templates; battalizer; mistyfuse; thermofax; durolax; cheesecloth - being some of those shared. The discussion provoked many ideas and methods to explore in our own expressions. Pat emphasized the importance of continuing to learn and explore with a playful and open attitude.
