News - Seasonal Wrapsody 2019, another successful event!

The Nottawasaga Handweavers and Spinners Guild hosted its 9th annual “Seasonal Wrapsody”, a show and sale of handmade items by local artisans, on November 1st and 2nd 2019.

It was held in the historic Gibson Centre in Alliston a building that has been restored to its former glory and then some, having originally been an implement factory.

With 38 vendors this year there was more than enough to delight the many shoppers.

All the products were handmade by the artists themselves, who produced a variety of items. They featured pottery, wood carving, alpaca products, leatherwork, hand turned wooden pens, ribbon art, body lotion products, hand painted cards, succulent gardens, painted vintage jewelry boxes, apiary products, mystery novels, essential oils and jewelry.

In addition, there were textile items of all sorts ranging from handweaving, knitwear, needle felting, quilting and repurposed textiles for apparel and home décor.

Also, the ever popular food items ranged from freshly baked bread and scones, butter tarts, jams and preserves, maple syrup and Christmas baking such as shortbread, fruitcake and plum pudding.

This event is meant to showcase the many talents of our local makers and as a fundraiser for the guild.

We are very appreciative of the support from the entire community and the Gibson Centre for helping to make this event the success that it is each year.
